Hassall is a very attractive rural parish. The landscape is dominated by fields (for arable and dairy farming), hedges and large numbers of deciduous hedgerow trees with a scattering of small woods across the area.
What a Mess!……….. Litter litter and more litter It’s been noticed that the amount of litter in the Parish is yet again building up to unacceptable levels. It’s in hedgerows, on the verges and on the road. Not only is it unsightly but it’s a danger to our wildlife. Therefore, as part of the Hassall Housekeeping agenda we hold regular litter picks. The meeting place is next to the HPC noticeboard on Alsager Road. Equipment will be provided but please wear appropriate footwear. Please join us if you can. With a few of us it doesn’t take more than an hour and makes a huge difference.

What Hassall Councillors are doing ………
As well as the volunteers monthly litter picking, we have engaged with a third party contractor to carry out bi-monthly litter picks as some of the roads are dangerous for us as volunteers, the first litter clearance was on Thursday 24th January, please see images below
